Charity benefits from BSVTA member celebrating 75 years in business

This year has been monumental for a number of reasons, and its definitely one that we’re not likely to forget anytime soon. However, it was always going to be a big year for Associated Security in Manchester. Having been founded in 1945, this year marked their 75th year in business.

A quick back-story into Associated Security. John Stanley Sproston, the great-uncle of the current directors, began in the security industry primarily offering locksmith services across Manchester.

Soon he built a very loyal customer base before expanding to offer a selection of Associated’s current products and services.

It’s always nice to look back on the growth of any business, and at 75 years in, it’s been astounding what the business has achieved since John got going.

As everyone is obviously aware, this year has definitely been one for the books and as recognised key workers, the businesses within our industry have had to adapt to ensure we could continue to provide the vital services to our customers during difficult times.

Of course, this has meant implementing new COVID-safe procedures not only to protect staff and customers, but also to provide that additional peace of mind that their security was, is and always has been, in safe hands.

COVID aside, to celebrate the landmark of their 75th year Associated decided on fundraising for the Teenage Cancer Trust through an internal raffle and in walking/cycling/running a collaborative 75 miles, completed by a selection of the team.

Those efforts raised a very commendable £2,785 and actually completed 200.02 miles between us as the team always go above and beyond.

It’s been a busy year, and its not yet over, but the team at Associated are looking forward to the next 75 years to come.
